Here is a new large piece. This was painted very directly with acrylics. There are so many varied textures in a scene like this. Some where put on with a palette knife others with a loaded brush. This is the first painting where I have included crows. They are a favorite bird of mine and I have other ideas on painting them. There is a large roost not far from my house and it is quite a spectacle when they are coming in for the evening. This painting show a small group. They were painted with a couple gestural brushstrokes. Ones that didn't work were wiped away and repainted.
