This is my first entry. I hope me and blogging get along. I will try and keep things updated with comments on current work in the studio, techniques, etc.

I finished Pond on Tuesday, July 29. The painting was about the mix of interesting textures. The real inspiring part was the shoreline, especially the plants in the foreground. Looking at the photo, I was seeing these beautiful swatches of blue-green. I saved these passages for last with very thick, opaque brushstrokes. I will post close-ups of the painting so viewers can see some of the brushwork.
